The Academic Council is a permanent elected representative body of a university, research organization, or association of scientists that deals with strategic issues related to the development of the university, organization, or territory where the Academic Council is represented.
The formation of the academic council in state and municipal higher educational institutions is mandatory. In other universities, the presence or absence of an academic council, its composition and competence are determined by the charter of the educational institution.
