On September 1, 1963, the VTUZ Plant was organized at the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant. By Order No. 2 of 01.11.63, the Department of "Chemical Technology" was organized at the Plant-VTUZ of Temirtau. In 1965, the department was divided into the following departments:

"Physical and Analytical Chemistry";

"General Chemistry";

"Technology of chemical production".

 

In 1996, after joining the Department of Mineral Enrichment, all departments were merged into the Department of Chemistry, Chemical Technology and Mineral Enrichment, which was headed by Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Muzychuk V.D.

Since 1998, the joint department was headed by Associate Professor, PhD Arbuzov V.A. and the department was renamed again into the Department of Chemical Technology.

In 2007, the Ecology section was attached to the department, as a result of which the department was named "Chemical Technology and Ecology".

From September 2018 to the present, the Department of "Chemical Technology and Ecology" is headed by Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Kabieva Saule Kazzhanovna.

Currently, the department trains highly qualified specialists in bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs:
