Faculty of energy, transport and management systems

The Faculty of Energy, Transport and Control Systems was reorganized from the Faculty of Engineering and Automation Technologies in September 2017. From 2017 to August 2020, the Faculty was led by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Zhabalova Gulnara Gazizovna. Since September 1, the post of dean has been held by PhD, acting Associate Professor Kharchenko Elena Mikhailovna. From May 2021 to November 2021, the position of Dean was performed by Umirbek Umbetov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Professor of the Academy of Technology and Management of the Chuvash Republic. From December 2021 to November 2022, the position of dean was performed by Candidate of Chemical Sciences Makhmutov Bolat Bizhanovich.Since December 2022, the position of dean has been held by senior lecturer, specialist Gulmira Aubakirovna

The faculty includes four departments, of which three graduate:

• Energy (head of the department of Ph.D., associate professor of Kapbarova G.M..);
• Technological machines and transport (head of the department candidate of technical science, associate professor Nogaev K.A.);
• History of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian disciplines (Head of the Department, Ph.D., Associate Professor Ilyasov S.A.)
• Artificial intelligence technology (Acting Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Professor of the Academy of Technology and Management of the Chuvash Republic Umbetov U.U.)

The faculty currently has a highly qualified faculty, including 2 doctors of sciences, 4 doctors (PhD), 14 candidates of sciences, 19 masters of sciences.

The training of specialists in the field of electric power is carried out for 32 years (the first enrollment of students since 1988), in the field of thermal power – 30 years (since 1989), in the field of information technology – 11 years (since 2009), in the field of automation and management for more than 20 years (since 1999). The first graduation of mechanical engineers in the amount of 16 people was in 1975.

Among the graduates of the departments can be named: Karabalin A. A. – akim of Temirtau in 1993-2001, Georgiadi I.V. – deputy of the regional maslikhat, director, Imstalcon-Temirtau» LLP, Lisitsyn E.G. – Director of JV «Optimm Crane Kazakhstan» LLP, Karimkhan E.K. – Vice President of «Shymkenthimmontazh» JSC, Ziyashev S.I. – deputy of the regional maslikhat, head of the workshop of «ArcelorMittal Temirtau» JSC, Arysov T.Z. – head of the department of «Kurylysmet» LLP, etc.

In 2011, the department «History of Kazakhstan and general education disciplines» was formed. During its existence as an independent department, it was also repeatedly reformed and reorganized. This department includes a physical education section. At different times, the Honored Judo and Sambo Wrestling Coach of Kazakhstan, USSR Master of Sports Filatov Sergey Aleksandrovich, Honored Master of Sports, twenty-time world powerlifting champion Sivokon Alexei Nikolaevich, International Master of Sports in rowing Dmitrieva Irina Yuryevna worked in this department.

Students studying at the Faculty «Energy, Transport and Management Systems» study socio-humanitarian, fundamental, economic, general education disciplines: theoretical and applied mechanics, lifting machines and machine parts, electrical engineering and automated control systems, and a cycle of special disciplines in the corresponding specialty.

As the main basis for conducting all types of production practices, the only metallurgical plant in the Central Asian region with a full technological cycle is JSC «ArcelorMittal Temirtau».

During the training, students undergo industrial practice at such enterprises as: LLP «Қurylysmet», LLP «BasselGroup LLS», Service Center «PrintCom», LLP «Byomer-Armatura», LLP «Kazakhmys Energy», Gordorservice, where they acquire practical skills necessary for successful work in a selected specialty.
