Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek reported on the implementation of the AI-Sana program at a government meeting on April 28, 2026, according to a Zakon.kz correspondent.
He recalled that the program for in-depth study of artificial intelligence was
launched on the instruction of the Head of State.
"On
April 15, 2026, with the support of the 'Qazaqstan Khalqyna' foundation, the
second phase of the program was launched. 100,000 students are receiving
training in AI entrepreneurship under a curriculum developed by Paul Kim, a
member of the Artificial Intelligence Council. In subsequent phases, the key
objective is to form at least 1,500 innovative projects with their further
acceleration within the Astana Hub ecosystem," Nurbek noted.
According
to the ministry, within the framework of Phase I of the AI-Sana program,
students enrolled in basic artificial intelligence skills courses have already
received more than 673,000 certificates.
