The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has outlined the training directions at the country's first research university in the field of artificial intelligence — AI Research University, reports a correspondent of the Kazinform agency.
According
to the ministry's response to the correspondent's request, training will be
provided in the fields of artificial intelligence, information and
communication technologies, information security, AI+X, and other related
specialties. Educational programs will focus on the application of artificial
intelligence technologies across various sectors of the economy.
The
ministry noted that the university's academic staff will be formed gradually,
taking into account the development of educational programs and the growth in
the number of students. It is planned to recruit both domestic and foreign
faculty members, visiting professors, as well as specialists with international
academic and professional experience.
In
addition, the university plans to enroll international students. For this
purpose, multilingual instruction, participation in scholarship programs, and
career guidance activities for foreign applicants are provided.
As a
reminder, studies at AI Research University will begin on September 1, 2026,
with bachelor's and master's degree programs. The possibility of opening
doctoral programs will be explored separately.
The
research university will be based at Alem.ai. Students will have access to the
national AI infrastructure, including alem.cloud, AlemLLM, and Astana Hub
resources.
The
Ministry of Science also added that student housing issues will be resolved in
the established manner, including through agreements with educational
organizations and accommodation facilities.
