Kazakhstan and DEC40 to develop Smart City and artificial intelligence technologies

Kazakhstan plans to implement advanced digital solutions in its regions, attract international technology companies, and expand the exchange of global best practices, Elordainfo.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and DEC40 signed a memorandum of understanding, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation in the fields of Smart Region, Smart City, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and the innovative development of regions.

DEC40 is an international organization uniting cities, technology companies, scientific organizations, and international partners to promote advanced digital solutions, exchange the world's best practices, and implement joint projects in the field of smart cities.

The signing of the agreement opens new opportunities for Kazakhstan to integrate its regions into the international Smart City ecosystem and to develop partnerships with leading global digital technology developers.

Under the cooperation, the parties plan to implement Smart City, artificial intelligence, and digital governance solutions, attract international technology companies and investors to implement projects in the regions, and exchange experience in the digital transformation of cities.

In addition, representatives of Kazakhstan will be able to participate in international educational programs and professional development programs. The parties also intend to hold joint events, expert sessions, and business missions.

One of the first practical steps will be to compile a list of Kazakhstan's priority projects in the field of Smart Region and Smart City. These will be presented to the international DEC40 community to find technological solutions, strategic partners, and potential investors.

The parties are also exploring the possibility of holding an international Smart City forum in Astana this year. It will serve as a platform for presenting regional projects, holding B2G and B2B meetings, and discussing mechanisms for financing and implementing modern digital solutions.

"Signing the agreement with DEC40 opens direct access for Kazakhstan's regions to an international network of technology companies, global best practices, and investment opportunities. Our task is not only to implement modern technologies but also to create conditions under which every region can implement its own AI Native City projects with the involvement of international partners," said Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
