DEC40 is an international organization that brings together cities, technology companies, research institutions, and international partners to promote advanced digital solutions, facilitate the exchange of global best practices, and implement joint Smart City initiatives.
The signing of the Memorandum creates new opportunities for Kazakhstan to integrate its regions into the global Smart City ecosystem and strengthen partnerships with leading international developers of digital technologies.
The cooperation framework includes:
- promoting the adoption of advanced Smart City, artificial intelligence, and digital governance solutions;
- attracting international technology companies and investors to implement projects across Kazakhstan's regions;
- exchanging global best practices in urban digital transformation;
- facilitating the participation of Kazakh representatives in international educational and professional development programs;
- organizing joint events, expert sessions, and business missions;
- expanding international cooperation in innovation and the digital economy.
One of the first practical steps will be the development of a list of Kazakhstan's priority Smart Region / Smart City projects. These projects will be presented to the DEC40 international community to identify technological solutions, strategic partners, and potential investors.
The parties are also exploring the possibility of holding an international Smart City Forum in Astana later this year. The forum is expected to bring together DEC40 members, representatives of Kazakhstan's regions, leading global technology companies, and the investment community. It will serve as a platform for showcasing regional projects, conducting B2G and B2B meetings, and discussing financing mechanisms and the implementation of advanced digital solutions.
Cooperation with DEC40 will mark an important milestone in implementing Kazakhstan's state policy on regional digital transformation, the development of artificial intelligence, and the deployment of Smart City technologies. It will also help attract international expertise, technologies, and investment to improve citizens' quality of life and support the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's cities.
