Digital assets and breakthrough technologies are becoming the foundation of Kazakhstan's new economic model. A panel session is being held on the sidelines of the forum in Shymkent, dedicated to "smart" regulation and the implementation of solutions that seemed like science fiction only yesterday. Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Committee for Digital Assets and Breakthrough Technologies, presented a vision of how blockchain, artificial intelligence, and autonomous transport are transforming traditional industries.
The participants paid special attention to the development of Physical AI — the next stage of technological evolution. While conventional AI lives in a digital environment, Physical AI enters the real world: machines begin not just to "think," but to act autonomously in logistics and manufacturing. It is this fusion of "intelligence" and "hardware" that forms a new technological paradigm where robots take on complex tasks, creating real added value.
Timur Shalekenov, head of Yandex Qazaqstan, spoke about the concept of Physical AI and the upcoming boom in autonomous transport and robot delivery technologies, driven by the rapid growth of e-commerce and the increasing shortage of couriers. He specifically noted why Kazakhstan is an attractive platform for implementing such solutions and presented technological solutions already launched in the country.
Within the discussion, moonshot-technologies from Freedom X were presented. This is not just "hype," but a functioning ecosystem: from robot dogs to drone kiosks. The idea was born from a simple human need — to provide residents of remote villages with fast delivery of food, medicine, and socially significant goods. The drone delivery project, which started as a pilot last year, is already moving into the operational phase. The team's practical experience has already been compiled into open research materials that Kazakhstan is ready to share with the global market.
Gizzat Baitursynov noted that such breakthrough solutions, including projects in the new city of Alatau City, require a flexible legal framework. Kazakhstan's new economy is built on a balance between innovation and safety, where digital financial tools and autonomous systems — both ground and air — become a natural part of the urban infrastructure.
