Participants of the AI-Sana program are moving from academic projects to creating solutions already applied in business, industry, healthcare, and government structures, reports Elordainfo.kz citing the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
One
of the program's key achievements has been the formation of a unified
artificial intelligence ecosystem based at domestic universities. Student and
university teams are developing products, undergoing pilot implementation,
receiving international grants, and attracting investor attention.
Astana
IT University created the EnergyDronesAI system for automatically detecting
defects in solar panels using drones. The project received a grant from Shell
and a gold award at an international competition in China.
The
Kazakh-British Technical University, together with KazMunayGas JSC, is
implementing the KMG.AIAN project — an intelligent assistant for data analysis
in the oil and gas industry.
The
East Kazakhstan Technical University developed Smart Safety Monitor for traffic
control and improving safety in mines. The project received grant support from
the World Bank.
AI
technologies are also being introduced into healthcare. Astana Medical
University is developing the ZhanCare.AI telemedicine platform, already used in
cooperation with a number of medical organizations.
Astana
IT University is developing the CortexAI system to support clinical decisions
in transplantology. The project received an international grant from partners
in Saudi Arabia.

Gumilyov Eurasian National University is implementing the SignBridge system for
automatic sign-language interpretation of media content in Kazakh. The
technology is already being used when broadcasting programs on the "Jibek
Joly" TV channel.
In
the tourism sector, the International Information Technology University is
implementing the TrustTravel platform to automate services. Eight companies are
already connected to it.
Korkyt
Ata Kyzylorda University, together with the SeoulTech branch, is developing the
PhishGuard AI platform to protect users and financial systems from phishing
attacks. Negotiations are currently underway on implementing the solution with
prosecutor's office authorities.
Narxoz
University, together with Queen's University, is implementing the ITEQ project
for cross-border payments. A pilot agreement has been signed with Bank
CenterCredit for this direction.
The
Kazakh-British Technical University is also implementing the KOZ AI platform
for automating company operations by integrating artificial intelligence into
CRM, ERP, marketing, and BI systems. The project currently serves more than 30
clients.
Al-Farabi
Kazakh National University, together with Astana Hub, is developing the AI
Startify Incubator platform for online startup incubation.

Daukeyev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications is
implementing the Ushqyn AI system — a unified contact center for automatically
processing and distributing requests. Cooperation has been established under
the project with Kazakhtelecom JSC and other telecom operators.
The
Ministry noted that the AI-Sana program is developing across all regions of the
country and combines workforce training, scientific research, and the
implementation of advanced technologies into the economy and social sphere.
