Kazakhstan's education is changing under the influence of technology

In Kazakhstan, digitalization is gradually covering all key areas, including education. The transition to an online format makes it possible to simplify daily processes, increase the availability of services and improve the quality of management. In recent years, educational technologies have become an important part of the system, providing automation and transparency of many processes.

Digitalization covers the entire education system

Among the key trends in the development of the industry in 2026 are the personalization of learning, expanding access to knowledge using artificial intelligence, and improving the effectiveness of teachers through digital tools. These changes are shaping a new model of education focused on flexibility and results.

One of the important directions was the development of tools for preparing for international and national research. The systems allow students to train, learn about the exam format, take mock tests, and receive feedback. At the same time, schools receive automated reports that allow them to track student progress and quickly identify weaknesses.

Teachers under pressure and the role of technology

However, the key problem of the education system remains the high burden on teachers. In addition to teaching, teachers perform a significant amount of administrative work–they maintain documentation, prepare reports, and interact with various structures.

"My ideas about school changed after I started developing the product – figuratively speaking, my rose-colored glasses fell off. I do research, which is why I talk a lot with teachers and methodologists from educational departments. And I understand how much of the task lies on the shoulders of one teacher – and training, and filling out papers, and submitting reports. Unfortunately, people from the outside think: well, what's so difficult, I prepared for the lesson and taught the children. And if you go deeper, you can see how much teachers do every day, and the main task of our product is to remove some of the routine from them, rather than load even more," says Zaure Manap, product manager at BilimCenter.

Digital solutions make it possible to automate a significant part of these processes, reducing the bureaucratic burden and freeing up time to work with students.

In parallel, a direction related to the automation of management processes in education is developing. Modern systems cover preschool, school, and continuing education, as well as enrollment, teacher recruitment, certification, and document management processes.

Increasing transparency is of particular importance. The introduction of digital tools minimizes the impact of the human factor and reduces the risks of corruption in sensitive processes.

"When we started developing digital solutions, we were influenced by a high-profile case in which a bribe of 1.5 million tenge was demanded from a teacher during employment, and the salary was 154 thousand. We paid attention to this and decided to make the hiring process as transparent and honest as possible so that no one could influence the final decision from the outside. We have been striving for the same indicators in the processes of enrolling children in schools and kindergartens," said Ermek Kamenov, head of Smartnation.

In addition, digitalization helps to relieve the burden on government agencies by reducing the flow of requests and optimizing procedures. At the same time, the developers emphasize that not only the technological part is important, but also the solution to the real problems of users.

As Ermek Kamenov notes, if it is difficult to interact with the sphere, then there are always real difficulties behind it, which must be solved first. For example, if methodologists have difficulties organizing any processes, it is not just fixed, but the source of the problem is clarified and a specific solution is developed.

Analytics and AI as the basis of a new model of education

Analytics is becoming a key element of the transformation. Modern systems allow you to track the quality of knowledge and academic performance at the regional, school, class, and even individual student levels. This makes it possible to quickly identify problems and make targeted management decisions.

"One of our key principles is less routine for teachers. Now, in my opinion, teachers have to spend a lot of time on bureaucratic tasks. Therefore, we try to free them from paperwork as much as possible so that they can pay more attention to the students and the training itself. Another big goal of ours is to provide the education system with transparent data and high–quality analytics. This will allow you to quickly see where problems are occurring, for example, in a particular school or region, and respond to them in a timely manner," said Farhat Usen, BilimClass' Lead Product Manager.

Special attention is paid to the convenience of using digital systems. The developers strive to minimize the time for data entry and constantly refine the functionality based on user feedback.  In the long term, experts predict further development of the hybrid model of education.

Thus, digitalization is becoming not just a modernization tool, but a fundamental factor in changing the entire education system. It creates a more transparent, flexible, and results-oriented model that focuses on the needs of the student and the effectiveness of the teacher's work.
