A National Development Institute in the field of Information Security has been established in Kazakhstan, becoming part of the Digital Government Support Center of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.
The new agency will be responsible for implementing state
policy, modeling cyberattacks, digital forensics, and improving the
qualifications of specialized professionals. In the era of the development of
artificial intelligence and cloud technologies, the institute will focus on
scientific approaches to protect state information systems and critical
infrastructure.
The institute's first international project was the
organization of the ICCSDFAI 2026 conference, taking place from June 25 to 27
in Istanbul at Istinye University. The Digital Government Support Center held
the event jointly with an international consortium of 11 organizations.
Partners included global tech giants: Palo Alto Networks, Amazon Web Services
(AWS), ASELSAN, TI-Lab, and FerroTechnics (Canada). All conference materials
will be indexed in the prestigious international IEEE database.
Aliya Ospanova, General Director of the Digital
Government Support Center, emphasized the strategic importance of this event
for the country. "Our goal is for Kazakhstan to not just be a consumer of
ready-made cybersecurity solutions, but a co-author of new approaches,"
noted General Director Aliya Ospanova.
The three-day program of the event includes plenary sessions,
workshops, a technology solutions exhibition, as well as CTF and Hackathon
competitions.
