On October
1, a new green alley appeared on the grounds of the new building of Karaganda
Industrial University. The planting of spruce and birch trees was dedicated to
the Day of Higher Education Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The
participants of the event did more than simply plant trees. Each spruce and
birch became a reminder of the teachers and mentors, graduates of different
years, and everyone who contributed to the development of the university.
The event
was attended by the university administration, graduates who completed their
studies at the university 50 years ago, heads of ethnocultural associations of
Qarmet JSC, and invited guests.
The guest
of honour at the ceremony was Yerkin Anuarovich Ongarbayev — Doctor of Law,
Professor, former Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, Honorary Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic
of Kazakhstan, and Academician of the Kazakh National Academy of Natural
Sciences.
The new
alley brought together people from different generations: those who studied and
worked at the university many years ago and those who continue its history
today. Over time, the trees will grow together with the university, creating a
comfortable and green space for future students.
The event
was held in support of the republican environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”.
It is aimed at improving public spaces, preserving natural heritage, and
fostering a responsible attitude towards the environment.
Planting
trees was a simple yet important step. It is an opportunity to preserve the
memory of the past, continue university traditions, and leave a positive legacy
for future generations. After all, a clean and green country begins with the
care of each and every one of us.
