On February 24, an environmental campaign “Clean Campus — A Future Without Waste” was held at Karaganda Industrial University. Students came together to collect plastic bottles and other waste on campus, demonstrating care for the cleanliness and ecology of their university.
Each participant of the campaign received a
commemorative souvenir as a token of appreciation for their involvement and
contribution to maintaining order. The event concluded with an Eco-Hour, during
which students and faculty discussed current environmental issues in the
region. The dialogue included the participation of Sabit Uzakbayev, State
Environmental Inspector for the city of Temirtau, Major Erkebulan Nurgaliyev,
officer of the Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Department of Temirtau,
and Lieutenant Erzhan Nygmetzhanov, engineer of the Emergency Situations
Department of Temirtau. They delivered a lecture on “Managing Environmental
Risks for a Sustainable and Safe Future,” informing students about modern
approaches to waste separation, preventing environmental risks, and the role of
each individual in preserving the environment.
During the meeting, students were able to ask
questions, share their ideas, and discuss opportunities for implementing
environmental projects on campus. The campaign demonstrated that even small
initiatives can unite people, promote environmental awareness, and make the
campus cleaner, safer, and more comfortable for everyone.
