On October 6, student self-government leaders at Karaganda Industrial
University discussed the prevention of gambling addiction, personal
responsibility, and financial security. The meeting was held as part of the
republican project “Law and Order,” with the participation of representatives
of the city branch of the “Adilet” party and the NGO “Zhanaru.”
Tatyana Stepanova, a top-category educational psychologist of the “Zań men
tártıp” project, spoke about the causes, signs, and consequences of gambling
addiction. The participants also held a dialogue with young people on the
Constitution, citizens’ rights and responsibilities.
The practical part was organized by Valentina Pavlik, head of the “Law and
Order” project. During the thematic quest, students discussed real-life
situations, learned to identify risky offers, and make responsible decisions.
Representatives of the NGO “Zhanaru” conducted a survey among students,
which helped determine young people’s attitudes toward gambling and their level
of awareness of the associated risks.
At the end, all participants received informational brochures with
recommendations on preventing gambling addiction and protecting financial
security.
