The 5th anniversary corporate WorldSkills Kazakhmys 2026 Professional
Skills Championship was held in Balkhash. N.N. Zobnin, Candidate of Technical
Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials
Science, participated in the championship as an independent jury expert in the
Non-Ferrous Metallurgy competency.
Participants demonstrated their professional skills through practical
work in the copper electrolysis workshop of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP. The main
objectives of the championship were to improve the qualifications of young
specialists, exchange practical experience, and strengthen the prestige of
skilled trades. Over two days, participants completed practical tasks,
demonstrating their skills, knowledge, and readiness to solve professional
challenges. Based on the results of the championship, the experts determined
the winners and prize-winners. A cash prize of 150,000 tenge was awarded for
first place, 100,000 tenge for second place, and 50,000 tenge for third place.
On behalf of our university, the winners were presented with special
prizes — certificates granting tuition discounts at the Non-Profit Joint-Stock
Company “Karaganda Industrial University”: 30% for first place, 20% for second
place, and 10% for third place.
