KarIU brings together scientists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine at an international round table dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On June 5, 2026, Karaganda Industrial University hosted the international round table “80 Years of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, bringing together members of the scientific community, university faculty, young researchers, and international partners of the university.

The event was dedicated to discussing the achievements and contributions of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the development of national and global science throughout its 80-year history. It also aimed to strengthen scientific cooperation and academic ties with international partner universities, facilitate the exchange of experience, identify prospects for joint research initiatives, and increase the interest of students and young scientists in research activities and international collaboration.

The participants were welcomed by Galina Sivyakova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Karaganda Industrial University, Candidate of Technical Sciences, and Professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies. She emphasized the significant role of the National Academy of Sciences in shaping Kazakhstan’s scientific potential and highlighted the importance of further integration of science, education, and industry to ensure the country’s sustainable development.

The participation of international scholars added special significance to the event. A welcoming speech was delivered by Bakhramjan Rasakhodjaev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Head of a Laboratory at the National Research Institute of Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He stressed the importance of international scientific cooperation and expressed confidence in the continued development of collaboration between the scientific institutions of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

A substantial scientific presentation was delivered by Valerii Tytiuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Electromechanics at Kryvyi Rih National University (Ukraine). In his report entitled “Intellectualization of Electromechanical Systems: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Engineering of the Future,” he examined current trends in the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in engineering systems and discussed their prospects for industrial applications.

Nikolai Zobnin, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Head of the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology Commercialization at KarIU, presented a report entitled “Industrial Innovations and the Priorities of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan: KarIU’s Contribution to the Sustainable Development of the Country.” The presentation highlighted the university’s research achievements, ongoing innovative projects, existing challenges, and promising research areas aimed at addressing the pressing needs of Kazakhstan’s industrial development.

Summarizing the outcomes of the event, Vyacheslav Kunaev, PhD, Associate Professor, and Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of Karaganda Industrial University, noted that the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan represents not only a significant historical milestone but also an important opportunity to reflect on the future directions of national scientific development. He emphasized that modern science must play a key role in ensuring the country’s technological independence, fostering an innovation-driven economy, and educating a new generation of researchers.

The participants of the round table expressed confidence that further strengthening cooperation among universities, research organizations, and industrial enterprises would contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan science and effectively addressing the strategic objectives of the country’s socio-economic development.
