Nauryz is one of the oldest and
most significant holidays for the peoples of Central Asia. In Kazakhstan, it
symbolizes the arrival of spring, the renewal of nature, and the beginning of a
new life cycle. For the nomadic peoples of the степь, this period was
especially important: a new economic year began, people summed up the past,
forgave grievances, and prepared for change. Today, Nauryz is not only a
historical tradition but also a vibrant cultural event that unites generations
and the diverse ethnic groups of the country.
The year 2026 in Kazakhstan has
been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, and the
launch of the Digital Nauryz project has become one of the symbols of the
harmonious combination of traditions and modern technologies. This approach
allows for a fresh perspective on cultural heritage, making it more accessible
and relevant for young people.
On March 20, a series of festive
events was organized at Karaganda Industrial University. A rich program
combining traditions, creativity, and student initiative was prepared for
students and guests. One of the highlights was the “Baursak Party,” where participants
had the opportunity to explore national cuisine and experience the atmosphere
of Kazakh traditions.
As part of the event, the results
of the Ethnostyle festival-contest “Ethnofashion is fashionable!” were also
announced. Throughout the week, students attended classes in national costumes,
and the most яркие and original looks were awarded certificates and symbolic
prizes. According to the results of the competition, the winners were as
follows:
— 1st place — Kudaibergen Nuraiym

— 2nd place — Dzhavlanbekova
Mukhlisa (TFP-25k-4),
— 3rd place — Orazgeldiyeva
Oguldursun (PI-26).
The festive program concluded
with a mini-concert prepared by the university students, featuring musical and
creative performances that created an atmosphere of celebration and spring
renewal.
The event became a platform for
promoting national traditions, unlocking students’ creative potential, and
strengthening cultural values within the student community.
