KARIU PARTICIPATED IN THE IAAR INTERNATIONAL FORUM

On October 2, Rector of KarIU Bakhyt Zhautykov and Director of the Department of Strategy and Internationalization Altynarai Takibayeva participated in the X Central Asian International Forum on Quality Assurance in Education, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).

The main theme of the forum was improving the quality of education in the era of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Representatives of government bodies, higher education institutions, international educational associations, and the expert community took part in the discussions.

Among the distinguished guests were Talgat Yeshenkulov, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, President of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Byrganym Aitimova, Chairperson of the IAAR Supervisory Board; Daniela Cristina Ghitulica, President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education; Ricardo Leon-Borquez, President of the World Federation for Medical Education; as well as experts from China, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Türkiye, and other countries.

At the panel sessions, moderators discussed the following topics with the participants:

🔹 Iolanta Silka, Director of the Academic Information Centre (AIC) for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (Republic of Latvia) – improving the quality of education amid global challenges;

🔹 Olgun Cicek, Member of the INQAAHE Board of Directors, Member of CHEA-CIQG, President of IQA, Member of the International Council of Strategic Partners of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Ljubljana (Republic of Slovenia) – the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies;

🔹 Galina Motova, President of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) – formation of a unified educational space for the countries of Central Asia within the framework of the UNESCO project.
