The main focus of the events was on the practical application of artificial intelligence technologies in education, programming, automation, and information security.
On September 28, Zh.I. Titova, Senior Lecturer of the Department, conducted a master class titled "Password Protection: Ensuring Digital Security in the Age of AI." Participants explored modern digital threats, account protection methods, password managers, two-factor authentication, and Passkeys technology.
On the same day, T.S. Kenzhebayeva conducted an open class in the course "Automatic Control Theory," focusing on the construction and analysis of frequency characteristics of automatic control systems using artificial intelligence tools. Students applied AI to perform calculations, generate graphs, and analyze the results.
On September 29, E.V. Spichak, Senior Lecturer of the Department, held a seminar titled "Security of Automated Control Systems: Where Humans and Artificial Intelligence Make Mistakes." Participants discussed the impact of human factors on the security of automated systems, the risks associated with AI applications, and the importance of human oversight in AI-assisted decision-making.
On October 8, A.O. Chvanova, Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department, conducted an open practical class in the course "Fundamentals of C#" on the topic "Application of AI in the Development and Optimization of Array Processing Algorithms in C#." Students developed programming solutions, compared them with AI-generated results, identified errors in generated code, and evaluated algorithm efficiency. Particular attention was paid to developing critical thinking skills when working with artificial intelligence.
In addition, an exhibition of educational and teaching materials on information technology, artificial intelligence, and automation was organized in the university's reading room as part of the Methodological Week. Faculty members and students visited the exhibition together and explored the presented publications.
The events demonstrated various approaches to integrating artificial intelligence into technical education, provided opportunities to exchange experience in using modern digital tools, and highlighted the importance of combining AI capabilities with professional knowledge and critical thinking in the training of future specialists.
