New Opportunities for Students: KarIU Expands International Cooperation

Karaganda Industrial University continues to strengthen international relations and create new opportunities for students and faculty members. On May 21, the university was visited by the leadership of Azerbaijan Technical University as part of an official visit. The delegation was headed by the Rector of the university, Professor Vilayat Valiyev. The delegation also included the Director of the Institute of Industrial Design and Technologies, Professor Manafaddin Namazov, and the Director of the Institute of Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity, Doctor Rahid Alakbarli.

The guests visited the university museum and became acquainted with the material and technical facilities of the departments as well as the work of modern laboratories. The Erasmus+ project GREEN DEAL CENTER attracted particular interest from the delegation, as it implements international initiatives in the fields of sustainable development and environmental education.

During the meeting of the Academic Council, the parties focused on issues of academic mobility, including student exchange programs, faculty internships, joint scientific research, and the development of educational programs.

Today, academic mobility has become one of the key directions in the development of higher education. For students, it provides an opportunity to gain international experience, become familiar with new educational approaches, and expand their professional and cultural horizons. For faculty members, it offers opportunities to participate in joint research projects, exchange experience, and implement modern educational practices.

Following the negotiations, the universities signed an agreement on further cooperation, which will expand interaction between the institutions and create new opportunities for students and young researchers from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

The event was also attended by Abishov Shirvan Pishan-Ogly, Chairman of the Temirtau branch of the Association of Azerbaijanis. He spoke about the organization’s activities aimed at strengthening friendship between peoples, promoting Azerbaijani culture and traditions, and developing public initiatives in the region.

KarIU noted that the development of international cooperation is currently an important part of training modern specialists. Such meetings are not merely official visits, but real steps toward creating a unified educational space and new opportunities for young people.
