On October 21, Karaganda
Industrial University held its student initiation ceremony. First-year students
of KarIU and the Technical and Economic College, faculty members, staff and
guests gathered in the assembly hall.
The celebration began with the
performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Then, Saule
Ainabekova, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, addressed
the first-year students.
She congratulated the students
on their admission and reminded them that student life is not only about
lectures, tests and examinations. The university offers young people many more
opportunities: participation in research projects, creative initiatives,
volunteer activities and public life.
“Do not be afraid of making
mistakes — be afraid of standing still. Student years are a time of growth,
experimentation and discovery,” the Vice-Rector noted.
One of the main events of the
ceremony was the awarding of students who received vacant educational grants.

Following the official student
initiation ceremony, the first-year students of Karaganda Industrial University
enjoyed a lively continuation of the festivities. Energetic dancing, music and
