On March 26, a seminar titled “Prevention of Internet Fraud and Extortion, Responsibility and Online Safety” was held at the university with the participation of a law enforcement officer. The speaker подробно explained the most common schemes of internet fraud, methods of social engineering, and the threats of online extortion. Students learned how to recognize suspicious messages and websites, what actions may lead to personal data leaks, and how to respond if they encounter extortionists or fraudsters.
Special attention was given to legal liability for spreading fake information, participating in fraudulent schemes, and violating online safety rules. Additionally, participants watched thematic videos that clearly demonstrated real examples of online threats and ways to protect against them.
The seminar helped improve students’ digital and legal literacy, reminding them that online safety is everyone’s responsibility.
