A workshop titled “The
Power of Change: Leadership Energy” was held at Karaganda Industrial
University, aimed at developing students’ leadership skills, enhancing
self-awareness, and understanding the importance of ethical principles in both
personal and professional activities.
The event was conducted in
an interactive format and brought together active students interested in
personal growth and the formation of strong value-based orientations. The
speakers were Head of the Psychological Service Anzhelika Yaruta and Compliance
Officer Samal Ibragimova, who presented a comprehensive view of modern
leadership.
During the introductory
part, the key objectives of the workshop were outlined: the development of
conscious leadership, decision-making skills, and an understanding of the role
of ethics and compliance in various areas of life.
Special attention was given
to the mini-lecture “Ethics and Leadership,” where participants were introduced
to the fundamental principles of honesty, transparency, and responsibility.
Practical examples from educational and professional environments were
discussed, demonstrating how leadership qualities are directly connected with
adherence to rules, academic integrity, and corporate ethics.
The practical part of the
workshop included group work with case studies reflecting real-life ethical
dilemmas. Students analyzed situations involving conflicts of interest, peer
pressure, and the choice between quick results and adherence to ethical standards.
During the discussions, participants proposed well-reasoned and ethically sound
solutions, developing their critical thinking and teamwork skills.
As part of the discussion
platform “The Power of Personal Values in Leadership,” participants explored
how emotional intelligence, personal beliefs, and internal values influence
leadership style and decision-making. The speakers emphasized that a leader’s
credibility and authority are built upon a strong value foundation.
The final stage was
reflection, during which participants analyzed their strengths and identified
areas for further development. The compliance officer provided practical
recommendations on building trust through adherence to ethical standards, while
the psychologist helped participants recognize their personal resources and
growth points.
As a result of the
workshop, each participant developed a “personal leadership plan,” outlining a
specific step toward enhancing their leadership skills in alignment with the
principles of honesty, responsibility, and compliance.
Such events contribute to
fostering a culture of conscious leadership among students, strengthening moral
values, and preparing competitive professionals capable of making balanced and
ethically grounded decisions in modern society.
