TRADITIONS, SPORTS AND VALUES: NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATED AT KARIU

As part of the celebration of March 20 — National Sports Day (Ұлттық спорт күні), a university-wide tournament in national sports among faculties was held at Karaganda Industrial University.

 

Students took part in competitions in arkan tartys, togyz kumalak, and kazakh kuresi. The event became a vivid demonstration of respect for national traditions, as well as a platform for developing strength, endurance, and team spirit.

 

According to the results of the competition:

 

🔹 Arkan tartys:

1st place — Faculty of Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering

2nd place — Faculty of Economics and Construction

3rd place — Faculty of Energy, Transport and Control Systems

 

🔹 Toguz kumalak:

1st place — Zorbaeva Kausar

2nd place — Rakhymzhan Madina

3rd place — Myrzatai Assel

 

In the kazakh kuresi category, students presented demonstration performances, showcasing strength, technique, and respect for national sporting traditions.

 

Additionally, within the framework of the program of the RPA “Zhanaru,” competitions in table tennis and armwrestling were organized. The initiative was aimed not only at promoting a healthy lifestyle, but also at increasing legal awareness among youth, fostering anti-corruption consciousness, and strengthening the principles of honesty and responsibility.

 

The event program harmoniously combined sports competitions and educational elements. During breaks between the competitions, interactive discussions were held on issues of legality, personal responsibility, and adherence to ethical standards.

🔹 Armwrestling:

Up to 70 kg:

1st place — Talip Yerassyl

2nd place — Ilyas Bakkeldi

3rd place — Temiralyev Aibeg

 

Up to 80 kg:

1st place — Abai Nurasyl

2nd place — Kidiraian Yessimkhan

3rd place — Ghannbekuly Yerassyl

 

Over 80 kg:

1st place — Ispaev Islam

2nd place — Zheztaev Zhanasyl

3rd place — Alpamysov Sayat

 

It should be noted that the university’s trade union acted as the sponsor of the sweet prizes.

 

Holding such events contributes not only to the development of students’ physical activity, but also to the formation of sustainable life values among young people, as well as respect for the law and national heritage.
