DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN METALLURGICAL PROCESSES

On April 10, 2026, the Department of Technological Machines and Transport held a scientific seminar delivered by Associate Professor K.A. Nogaev on the topic “Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Artificial Intelligence in Research on Metallurgical Equipment and Processes.”

 

The seminar presented contemporary approaches to the application of computer-aided engineering in the research, design, and modernization of metallurgical equipment. The presentation addressed the role, objectives, and methodology of CAE in the analysis of metallurgical processes and machinery. It also included examples of dynamic modeling of equipment operation, strength analysis of structural components based on stress-strain state simulation, as well as modeling of metal forming processes. In addition, the prospects for integrating artificial intelligence tools into the computational and analytical procedures of computer-aided engineering were highlighted.

 

The seminar was aimed at consolidating the department’s research agenda, strengthening the research competencies of students and faculty members, and updating methodological approaches to solving applied and scientific problems in the field of metallurgical equipment and processes.
