KARIU SUMMER SCHOOL BEGINS ITS WORK

On June 15, Karaganda Industrial University officially launched its Summer School for students in grades 1–10. Throughout the week, participants will not only spend their summer holidays in an engaging and productive way but will also explore modern fields of science, technology, and engineering education.

The Summer School program is designed for different age groups and includes educational classes, career guidance activities, tours of university departments, as well as interactive and sports events.

For primary school students, the program offers classes in fun chemistry, mathematics, computer science, English, and financial literacy. Particular interest has been generated by excursions to the Departments of Technological Machines and Transport, Energy, Metallurgy, Artificial Intelligence Technologies, and Civil Engineering, where students become familiar with modern equipment and learn more about the world of engineering professions.

Students in grades 5–7 study English and Chinese, computer science, physics, chemistry, and the fundamentals of financial literacy. The program also includes visits to the university’s specialized departments and sports activities aimed at fostering teamwork and promoting an active lifestyle.

For senior students, classes are organized in computer science, chemistry, foreign languages, and financial literacy. A special place in the program is devoted to the career guidance course “Choosing a Profession,” which helps students better understand their interests and opportunities for further education. As part of the Summer School, senior students also become acquainted with the activities of the Departments of Metallurgy, Civil Engineering, and Energy, gaining insight into in-demand engineering specialties and modern technologies.

The KarIU Summer School is an important component of the university’s career guidance efforts and is aimed at developing students’ interest in science, technology, and engineering creativity. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical activities, and immersion in the university environment, participants have the opportunity to broaden their horizons, acquire new knowledge, and take their first steps toward making an informed choice about their future profession.

The Summer School will continue until June 19. Participants can look forward to new discoveries, exciting learning experiences, and a deeper introduction to the modern world of engineering and technology.
