On October 1, a ceremonial event dedicated to Higher Education Workers’
Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at Karaganda Industrial University.
The celebration brought together university faculty, researchers, staff, and
guests.
The event began with the State Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The
staff was addressed with congratulatory remarks by Bakhyt Zhautykov, Chairman
of the Board — Rector of Karaganda Industrial University, Doctor of Technical
Sciences, Professor. He highlighted the contribution of faculty and staff to
specialist training, the development of science, and strengthening the
university’s position.
As part of the celebration, Bakhyt Zhautykov was awarded the “For
Contribution to the Development of Social Partnership” badge by the Karaganda
Regional Organization of the Kazakhstan Sectoral Trade Union of Education,
Science and Higher Education Workers. The award recognized his work in
strengthening cooperation, protecting employees’ interests, and developing
social partnership in the field of higher education.
Another important event of the day was the conferment of the title of
Honorary Professor of Karaganda Industrial University upon Yerkin Ongarbayev,
former Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor
of Law, Professor, Honorary Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the
Republic of Kazakhstan, and Academician of the Kazakh National Academy of
Natural Sciences.
During the ceremony, Kairosh Nogaev was presented with a certificate
confirming the academic title of Associate Professor, and Zhadуra Avkurova was presented with a PhD diploma. The
university’s first master’s student from Africa, Tuku Harrison, was awarded the
“Best Young Scientist” badge and First-Degree Diploma by the International Research
Center “Endless Light Science”.
The event continued with the presentation of awards to KarIU faculty and
staff for many years of dedicated service and their contribution to the
development of higher education and science. Representatives of the university
staff received Certificates of Honor and Letters of Appreciation from the
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The celebration was accompanied by a concert program. Creative
performances by the jazz orchestra of the Kali Baizhanov Concert Association
were a pleasant addition to the ceremony and created a warm atmosphere for all
participants.
