On May 8, a city
creative conference titled “Echo of Victory: Memory Passed Through Time” was
held at the Karaganda Industrial University. The event brought together college
students, KarIU students, and high school students from Temirtau to remember
the heroic pages of the history of the Great Patriotic War and pay tribute to
the Victory generation.
The conference was
organized by the Department of Educational Work and Youth Policy of Karaganda
Industrial University together with the Youth Resource Center of Temirtau. The
main purpose of the meeting was to preserve historical memory, strengthen intergenerational
ties, and engage young people in studying the history of their country.
The conference was
opened by Galina Alexandrovna Sivyakova, Member of the Board – Vice-Rector for
Academic Affairs of KarIU. She noted that such events play an important role in
the patriotic education of young people, help preserve historical memory, and
foster respect for the heroic deeds of the Victory generation. In her speech,
she emphasized that the memory of the Great Patriotic War should be passed down
from generation to generation not only through history textbooks, but also
through family stories, creativity, and live communication.
A welcoming speech was
also delivered by the honored guest of the event, Asemay Muratovna Aimbetova,
representative of the Amanat Party at JSC “Qarmet.” In her address, she
emphasized the importance of preserving the connection between generations and
keeping the memory of the Great Victory alive.
One of the most
touching moments of the meeting was the speech of Vasily Nikolaevich Melnik, a
home front worker of the Great Patriotic War. The participants listened in
complete silence to his memories of the difficult war years. The sincere words
of a person who lived through wartime became a reminder for the younger
generation of the value of peace, human resilience, and strength of spirit.
The conference was held
in three creative sections. Participants spoke about their relatives — veterans
and home front workers — and shared family memories carefully preserved over
the years.
The performances in the
artistic reading section were also deeply moving. Students recited poems about
the war, courage, and the heroic deeds of the people.
The third section
brought together performers of wartime songs. The hall was filled with
compositions that became symbols of the era and the memory of Victory.
According to the
results of the conference, the winners were:

the Great Patriotic War continues to live in the hearts of the younger
generation. Through creativity, family stories, and live communication, the participants
were able to reconnect with history and feel the responsibility of preserving
the memory of the people’s heroic feat.
