Master of Technical Sciences in the Educational Program 7M07203 “Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy”.
Program Description
The Master’s program in Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy prepares graduates for scientific-pedagogical, research, and engineering-technological activities in the field of modern metallurgical processes and production. The program develops competencies in the design, implementation, and improvement of innovative energy- and resource-saving technologies for the production, refining, and processing of metals and alloys; integrated processing of mineral and technogenic raw materials; modeling and optimization of metallurgical processes; as well as in the methodology of teaching specialized disciplines and scientific communication.
Enrollment and Study Procedure
The educational program 7M07203 “Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy” is implemented jointly with the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies.
Admission to the Master’s Program at KarIU
Admission to the educational program 7M07203 is carried out in accordance with the admission rules for the Master’s programs of KarIU (in compliance with current regulatory documents).
Right to Choose the Study Track
Each applicant admitted and enrolled in KarIU under the educational program 7M07203 has the right to choose:
– studying only at KarIU (standard track), or
– studying under the Joint Educational Program (JEP) with the partner university (dual-university track).
All Master’s students admitted and enrolled in KarIU under the educational program 7M07203 are eligible to study under the JEP, subject to compliance with organizational conditions (approval of an individual study plan).
To transfer to the JEP track, the student submits to the Head of the Educational Program/JEP Coordinator:
– a personal application expressing consent to study under the joint program;
– consent to the processing of personal data and transfer of necessary information to the partner university (if required);
– other documents as requested by the JEP Coordinator.
The Head of the Educational Program:
– verifies the correctness of the application and the possibility of inclusion in the JEP (in accordance with the academic schedule and the agreement with the partner);
– forms the list of JEP students;
– approves/updates the individual study plan and the format of course delivery (at KarIU/at the partner university/in a blended format).
Mode of Study
The JEP may be delivered in full-time, blended, and/or distance learning formats using distance learning technologies, in accordance with the academic policy of KarIU and the terms of the agreement with the partner university.
Graduation Documents
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate receives:
– a KarIU diploma (under EP 7M07203), and
– a certificate/transcript from the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies confirming the learning outcomes achieved within the JEP.
Procedure Update
The procedure for admission and inclusion in the JEP is reviewed annually prior to the start of the admission campaign and/or on an extraordinary basis in case of changes in regulatory documents, the agreement with the partner, or organizational conditions.

Enhancing the competitiveness of metallurgical specialists through the development of engineering competencies in the field of innovative energy- and resource-saving technologies for the production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Graduates will be able to apply these competencies in pedagogical, research, and industrial-technological professional activities.

– integrated processing of mineral and technogenic raw materials, and increasing the efficiency and environmental sustainability of metallurgical production;
– conducting physicochemical research, modeling, and optimization of processes;
