Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Program Goal
Preparation of philosophy doctors (PhD) with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the con-ducting fundamental and applied research in the field of obtaining and processing nanomaterials, the de-velopment of new directions of nanotechnology in various fields of engineering; ready to lead scientific research and development work
Program Uniqueness
The educational program has an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary character, as it provides training at the intersection of several fields of knowledge. In general, the program is aimed at preparing qualified and competitive scientific and pedagogical personnel for teaching and research activities, while also providing broad fundamental professional training focused on enabling future Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) to acquire fundamental knowledge.
Doctoral students also have the opportunity to develop skills in using licensed unique software products for modeling deformation processes, virtual simulators of production lines, and the latest virtual laboratory works for mechanical testing.
In addition to theoretical training, doctoral students are provided with opportunities to conduct research work at unique pilot-industrial sites equipped with analogues of operating metallurgical equipment. Memorandums of cooperation concluded by the university with leading universities of Kazakhstan and foreign countries enable the use of innovative equipment to support a wide range of scientific research in the field of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies in engineering.
The positioning of the educational program in the educational market is mainly reflected in the successful defense of PhD dissertations and the subsequent demand for graduates of the program. In this regard, the program holds a strong position, as the employment rate of graduates exceeds 90%.
