The department "Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan" has been operating in the NAO "Karaganda Industrial University" since December 12, 2016.

The purpose of the activity of the APK department is the formation of an active civic position of youth, the education of Kazakhstani patriotism, the study and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.
The Department annually participates in the implementation of programs to strengthen interethnic harmony. Students regularly take part in city, regional, and national scientific, practical, and scientific–methodological conferences and dialogue platforms. Students also became winners of city and regional competitions of creativity and expressive reading.
On a regular basis, CarIU students, on the initiative of the APK department, take part in scientific and practical conferences held by the KSU "Kogamdyk kelisim" Department of Internal Policy of the Karaganda region.
The work of the department is carried out on the basis of annual plans, according to which events are held on a traditional basis in conjunction with ethno-cultural associations of the city and public organizations. Research projects, conferences, round tables.
Until 2022, the APK Department continuously conducted events within the framework of projects implemented at the university under the Rukhani Zhangyru program, namely:
- the project "Kazakhstan is our common home", aimed at studying the traditions and customs of ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan;
- the project "Under a single shanyrak" with the participation of ethno-cultural associations of the city of Temirtau;
- the Tildaryn Multilingual Development project.
As of January 1, 2024, the Department of APK is constantly conducting events within the framework of projects:
- the project "Under a single shanyrak" with the participation of ethno-cultural associations of the city of Temirtau;
- the Tildaryn Multilingual development project in cooperation with the Foreign Languages Section of the General Education Department;
- projects on the implementation of volunteerism in cooperation with the volunteer center "Shanyrak" in Temirtau with participation in charity events, as well as the implementation of the Republican Youth project "My Brother" in the framework of work with schoolchildren in Temirtau and Aktau village;
- non-formal education projects "School of Young Entrepreneurs" for 11th grade students of Temirtau city schools and "Silver Universities" in cooperation with the Department of Academic Policy, the Department of Economics and Business and the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
Much attention is paid to work with student youth aimed at promoting the traditions of ethnic groups living in the region, the formation of tolerance among students.
Also, within the framework of its activities, the APK youth cooperates with the ethnocultural associations of Temirtau, the Historical and Cultural Center of the First President, the Museum of Local Lore of Temirtau, the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana and youth public associations.
Members of the Youth APK, together with departments, organize cultural and educational events promoting historical and cultural heritage, oral folk art, scientific and practical conferences. Any full-time student can become a member of the youth APK.
All educational activities at Karaganda Industrial University are coordinated with the educational process, which provides not only professional knowledge and skills, but also forms a new generation of Kazakhstanis – patriots of their Homeland.
In this regard, the Action Plan for the educational work of DVRiMP, together with the work plans of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan of Karaganda Industrial University, annually includes activities in the following areas::
- civil and patriotic education;
- spiritual and moral education;
- countering religious extremism;
- physical education, promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
- social protection and support for talented youth;
- legal education, formation of an anti-corruption culture;
- development of student self-government;
- development of debate, KVN and volunteer movements.
The enrollment of students is at least 1,000 people.
Since November 22, 2024, the Small Student Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has been officially operating on the platform of the Karaganda Industrial University.
