Department History

The Department of "History of Kazakhstan and General Education Disciplines" was reorganized by the decision of the Board of Directors of Karaganda Industrial University NJSC on 31.08. 2024 (protocol 6/24). It was established by merging the "Kazakh, Russian, and Foreign Languages" Department section of the "General Education Disciplines " and the "History of Kazakhstan, Social-Humanitarian Disciplines" Department section of "History of Kazakhstan, Social-Humanitarian Disciplines and Physical Education".

The department "History of Kazakhstan and General Educational Disciplines" was established in September 2024 (acting head of department - Master of Arts Kapasheva Zh.K.).

Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages section

1963 – Foreign Languages Department was established ( head department Dyadyukova I.I.)

1991 – the department was divided into the departments of Kazakh and Russian languages (head department Aitbayeva M.Zh.) and Foreign languages (head department Cheremnykh L.S.)

From 1969 to 1976, the department was headed by Zalessky I.I., Mukanova T. N., Stanovich O.N., Sadykov M.S.

1996 –joined into the Kazakh, Russian and Foreign languages Department (head department associate professor Baibusanova Z.E.)

2001-2011 - the department was headed by Baimbetova M.K.

2011 – the department became the part of “History of Kazakhstan and general education disciplines” Department (head department Associate professor Gumenchuk O.N., 2014-2017 – M.P.S., Khamitov S.B.)

2017 – the department was established as "Kazakh, Russian and Foreign languages Department" (head department Associate professor Abdikarim N.A.)

2021 – "Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages" and "General education disciplines" departments were joined into the "General Education disciplines" department (head department Associate professor Makhmutov B.B., in 2022 – Myrzakhanova A.T., in 2023 – Master of Arts, Kapasheva Zh.K.).

The section "History of Kazakhstan and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines"

1963 – The department "Social Sciences" was established (head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V.Ya. Zaytsev).

1964 – The department "Social Sciences" was renamed to "Marxism-Leninism" (head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V.Ya. Zaytsev).

1968 – Based on the "Marxism-Leninism" department, two new departments were created:

- "History of the CPSU and Scientific Communism" (until 1975, the department was headed by head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V.Ya. Zaytsev; from 1975 to 1981 - head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.R. Djagfarov; from 1982 to 1989 - head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Gunashev).

- "Philosophy and Political Economy" (head department Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor M.M. Siyanina from 1968 to 1974; Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor I.L. Popandopulo from 1975 to 1985; Candidate of Economical Sciences, Associate Professor V.F. Saliychuk from 1985 to 1992).

1990 – The department "Moral, Aesthetic, and Legal Education" was established (head department Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Z.Z. Mukhina).

1992 – Based on the "Moral, Aesthetic, and Legal Education" department, the department "Cultural Studies" was created (headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, V.N. Shitova from 1992 to 1994; from 1994 - Candidate of Political Sciences O.N. Gumenchuk).

1996 – All humanitarian departments were merged into one department "Philosophy and Social-Humanitarian Sciences" (head until 2006 - Candidate of Political Sciences O.N. Gumenchuk; from 2006 to 2011 — Senior Lecturer V.G. Cherkashin).

2011 – The department was renamed to "General Educational Disciplines" (headed by Candidate of Political Sciences O.N. Gumenchuk). The department included the departments of "Kazakh, Russian, and Foreign Languages" and "Physical Education".

2013 – The department was renamed to "History of Kazakhstan and General Educational Disciplines" (headed by Candidate of Political Sciences O.N. Gumenchuk; from 2014 to 2017 – m.p.s. S.B. Khamitov).

2017 – The department "History of Kazakhstan, Social-Humanitarian Disciplines, and Physical Education" was established (until 2019 head department - Senior Lecturer R.K. Kolesnikova; from 2019 to 2023 – m.h.s. M.Soltan; from 2023 to 2024 -m.h.s. G.M. Kapbarova).

2024 – The sections "History of Kazakhstan and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines" and "Kazakh, Russian, and Foreign Languages" were merged into the department "History of Kazakhstan and General Educational Disciplines" ( acting head department -Master of Arts. Zh.K. Kapasheva).

In 2024, the sections "History of Kazakhstan, Social-Humanitarian Disciplines" and "Kazakh, Russian, and Foreign Languages" were merged into the Department of "History of Kazakhstan and General Education Disciplines" (acting head department – Master of Arts, Kapasheva Zh.K.).

In 2024-2025 academic year, the department employs 1 candidate of Sciences, 10 Masters of Sciences and 9 Senior Lecturers.

The department has 3 computer labs, 13 classrooms, and a "Competency Development Center."

Russian, Professional Russian, Kazakh tili, Kasibi Kazakh tili, English, Professional English, History of Kazakhstan, Sociology and Political Science,Fundamentals of Anti-Corruption Culture, Cultural Studies and Psychology, Philosophy, History and Philosophy of Science, Higher Education Pedagogy, Management Psychology are taught at the department. Disciplines are studied in the 1-3 years.

The mission of the department is to form individuals with a strong philosophical worldview, political consciousness, cultural awareness, and linguistic competence in professional communication.

The strategic goal of the department is to develop the department as an established research and pedagogical school in the field of social sciences, humanities, and linguistic education.

Educational Activities

Priority directions of educational and methodological work of the department:

comprehensive methodological support of the educational process;
monitoring the availability of educational literature and methodological developments in the educational process;
development and implementation of electronic educational resources, MOOC;
production of educational and methodical manuals of internal and external editions;
-examination of Syllabus, teaching materials, teaching aids developed by the teaching staff of the department;
mutual attendance of classes by teachers of department;
the use of innovative educational technologies, forms and methods of teaching;
analysis of the quality of teaching, the level of educational achievements of students;
-professional development of teaching staff.
The educational and methodological work of the department is carried out:

in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan of the University;
in accordance with the Academic Policy of the University based on Standard training programs;
in accordance with the Regulations on the planning of the academic load faculty of the university;
in accordance with the Regulations on the preparation and registration of educational and methodological documentation;
in accordance with the Plan of the Educational and methodological Council of the University.
Forms of organization of educational and methodical work of the department:

-scientific and methodological conferences, methodological seminars, trainings, master classes;
instructional and methodological meetings;
methodical week;
demonstrative classes with the participation of external (partner universities) experts;
approbation of textbooks, teaching materials, teaching aids developed by the teaching staff of the department;
organization of research work of students;
self-reports on the implementation of the individual teaching staff plan;
In the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025 academic years, the department published 1 textbook with index C (Zhunusova A.K. "Professionally Oriented English for Students of Metallurgical Specialties"), and 4 textbooks with ISBN (Zhunusova A.K. "Professionally Oriented Foreign Language"; Druzhinina N.V., Akhmetgalina N.S. "Foreign Language A2"; "Professional Foreign Language for Transport and Transport Machinery Specialties"; Kapasheva Zh.K. "Kazakh Language B1," Part 2; Myrzakhanova A.T., Asanova K.A. "Russian Language A2" 1-part). An electronic textbook with an author's certificate was also presented (Kapasheva Zh.K. "Kazakh Language B1"), along with several online courses (Zhunusova A.K., Sharipova Y.F., Druzhinina N.V., Khamitova Sh.A., Mukatay A.B. "Foreign Language A1"; "Foreign Language A2"; Tileubaev A.M. "History of Kazakhstan"; Kanatbaeva A.B. "Foundations of Anti-Corruption Culture"; Zhunusova A.K., Kapasheva Zh.K., Myrzakhanova A.T. "Introductory Conversational Course for International Students"; Druzhinina N.V., Akhmetgalina N.S. "English for Communication").

Research Activities

Research and scientific and methodological activity at the department includes:
-conducting scientific and methodological research;
-preparation and publication of scientific articles, monographs;
-conducting scientific events: training seminars, round tables, conferences;
-management of students' research works.

In order to conduct scientific and methodological research, the Competence Development Center has been operating at the department since October 2023. The Center, based on a cooperation agreement with the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M.Tank, began its activities in the following areas:
- study of the peculiarities of the formation of psychological and pedagogical competence of teachers of higher education institutions of a technical profile in the context of continuing education;
- preparation and publication of joint monographs, methodological manuals and scientific articles;
- conducting scientific and methodological seminars, trainings and conferences.
