Student Sports Club of Karaganda Industrial University

The “Temir” Student Sports Club brings together students, master’s students, teaching staff, and employees for the organization and development of sports and physical fitness and wellness activities at the university. The club develops modern forms of sports and physical fitness activities, including sections in football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, weightlifting, table tennis, chess, and national games. The club’s activities are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and preparing the university’s representative teams for competitions of various levels.

The Chairman of the club carries out the current management of the club and the introduction of innovative sports practices. The Director of the Department of Educational Work and Youth Policy, deputy deans of faculties, as well as student government bodies, together with the chairman of the club, organize and conduct physical education, sports, educational and wellness activities.

Goals and Objectives

Activation and development of modern forms of sports, physical culture and wellness activities among students, undergraduates, doctoral students, university teachers and staff using digital technologies and interactive platforms.

The student sports club "Temir" solves the following tasks:

  • - it promotes the comprehensive development of the personality of a future specialist through modern methods of physical education and sports pedagogy;
  • - it creates a steady need among students, undergraduates, doctoral students, teachers and staff of the university for physical self-improvement, stress prevention and improvement of vitality;
  • - develops a motivational and value-based attitude towards physical culture, sports, a healthy lifestyle, digital literacy in fitness and social activity;
  • - strengthens the health and psycho-emotional state of the participants, ensuring the harmonious unity of biological, mental and social functions.;
  • - introduces innovative approaches to the organization of sports activities, including hybrid training formats, VR/AR workouts, fitness applications and remote challenges.
General Provisions

The student Sports Club "Temir" is a structural unit of the university, based on the Department of Physical Education and integrated into the university's student services system.

The main activities of the club for 2025:

  • - organizational work of physical education and sports assets;
  • - promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports culture through digital platforms, social networks and interactive events;
  • - conducting mass sports events, competitions and challenges with elements of fitness gamification;
  • - creation and functioning of sections on modern and traditional sports, including esports and fitness areas;
  • - preparation of university national teams to participate in national and international competitions;
  • - organization of physical culture, recreation and recreational activities using modern techniques and digital tools;
  • - the introduction of fitness programs and wellness activities into the daily lives of students, including sports initiatives in dormitories;
  • - development of corporate sports and wellness programs for university faculty and staff.
