Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
The University supports the principles of environmental protection and the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems through educational, scientific, and practice-oriented activities. The University fosters an environmental culture aimed at a responsible attitude towards natural resources, land conservation, and biodiversity preservation. The University campus and its adjacent areas constitute a green space with tree and shrub plantings. This contributes to the preservation of the local ecosystem, improvement of the microclimate, and the creation of a favorable environment for students and staff. As part of achieving this goal, the University actively participates in environmental campaigns and events focused on landscaping, greening, rational resource use, and raising environmental awareness among students and staff, including within the framework of the "Taza Qazaqstan" republican initiative. Participation in this program reflects the University’s contribution to forming an environmentally responsible society and supporting the national environmental protection agenda. Through educational programs and research, the University facilitates the dissemination of knowledge in sustainable land management, combating land degradation and desertification, thereby contributing to long-term environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
