Qazaq AI Research University– the first research university in the field of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan, will begin accepting documents on June 20, 2026. The university plans to enroll 500 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. Training starts on September 1, writes digitalbusiness.kz .
What kind of university
Qazaq AI Research University will be
located on the basis of Alem.ai in the ecosystem of EXPO in Astana. According
to Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, students will have
direct access to the national artificial intelligence infrastructure –
supercomputers, the alem.cloud cloud platform, the AlemLLM language model and
Astana Hub resources. The university's concept is based on the principle of
"we train engineers who create AI, not using AI services."
Training programs
The bachelor's degree program offers
one key specialty – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning – with five
tracks to choose from: Generative AI, Computer Vision, Advanced NLP, Data
Engineering, and AI Product Management. The training period is three years
according to an intensive model with an emphasis on practice and project work.
Each student comes to the defense with a real AI product in his portfolio.
The Master's degree is implemented
under the AI + X program, which trains specialists at the intersection of AI
and applied industries: finance, energy, healthcare, public administration and
industrial systems. There are two formats: specialized training for one year
and scientific and pedagogical training for two years.
Additionally, the university
launches MBA programs jointly with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial
Intelligence: Executive MBA (one year) and MBA (two years).
