Astana IT University is conducting interdisciplinary research aimed at advancing artificial intelligence technologies. This was announced at a government session by the university's associate professor Beibyt Abdikenov.
One
of the projects focuses on developing a technology for diagnosing and
predicting breast cancer using AI. The development is being carried out under a
targeted program funding for 2024–2026, with the first pilot projects at
oncology clinics planned for launch by the end of 2024.
In
addition, the university is working on creating a bionic forearm exoprosthesis
with automatic muscle signal recognition. The first prototype of the device has
already been created. The project is also funded under a state program, with
its completion and clinical trials scheduled for 2026.
These
developments aim not only to introduce advanced technologies into healthcare,
but also to contribute to the advancement of medical robotics in Kazakhstan.
