A Cybersecurity Academy has been opened in Astana at Astana IT University — an educational project implemented with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the international company Palo Alto Networks, as reported by a BAQ.KZ correspondent.
The
launch of the academy became part of a systematic effort to train specialists
amid the growing number of cyberattacks and the active integration of
artificial intelligence. To date, cybersecurity training programs already cover
five leading universities in the country, and more than 30 engineers from the
public and quasi-public sectors have completed professional training in
accordance with international standards.

As
the ministry notes, the development of educational initiatives in the field of
cybersecurity is aimed at building national expertise and strengthening the
protection of critical infrastructure.
This is not only about training specialists, but also about creating a
resilient digital ecosystem capable of responding to modern challenges — from
cyberattacks to risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence.
Cooperation
with International Partners
The
Academy became part of Kazakhstan's broader cooperation with Palo Alto
Networks, which includes educational projects, knowledge exchange, and the
implementation of modern cybersecurity solutions.
In particular, pilot projects are already being implemented in government
agencies to test endpoint protection technologies (XDR), automate cybersecurity
operations centers, and deploy cloud solutions (SASE).
Long-Term
Cooperation Plans
Further
development of cooperation was discussed during a working meeting between
Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and
Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev and a
delegation from Palo Alto Networks.
The parties reviewed interim results of their collaboration and outlined plans
for the next five years, including the development of educational programs,
implementation of technological solutions, and improvement of cybersecurity
legislation.
It is expected that such initiatives will strengthen Kazakhstan's digital
resilience and raise the level of data protection in the face of global cyber
threats.
