In Kazakhstan, students are allowed to use artificial intelligence in the educational process, but with a number of restrictions. This was announced by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek. kznews.kz .
According to him,
AI can be used, for example, for data processing, but students should formulate
conclusions in their studies on their own. Using algorithms does not release
you from personal responsibility for the final part of the work.
Last year, changes
were made to the regulatory documents governing the writing of dissertations,
term papers and other written papers. Now, when using AI, it is necessary to
indicate which tool or algorithm was used, and also note that the final
conclusions were finalized by the author.
The Minister noted
that the rules for the use of artificial intelligence are planned to be further
consolidated in the Digital Code being developed. At the same time, violations
are already being recorded in universities: works completely completed with the
help of AI can be rejected or canceled.
Special systems are
being developed to identify such cases. Kazakhstan already uses the
anti-plagiarism service I-Sana, which helps identify texts created by
algorithms.
In addition,
starting this year, about 60,000 employees of universities and scientific
organizations will be trained in working with AI. According to the minister,
this is necessary to understand the principles of technology and control its
use by students.
