Rector’s response to the message of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dated 02.09.2024

One of the main aspects voiced by the President in his Message to the people of Kazakhstan is the upcoming referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant. As K. K. Tokayev rightly noted, today Kazakhstan faces the need to provide reliable and environmentally friendly energy sources, and nuclear energy is one of the key solutions in this matter. It is important to understand that making such strategic decisions requires the active participation of society, and the upcoming referendum is an important step in this direction. This is the principle of the concept of a "hearing state". We must think about the future, taking into account the long-term national interests and the specifics of our country.
