THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT WAS DISCUSSED IN КARIU

On September 16, a round table was held in КarIU, during which its participants discussed the upcoming referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. The event was attended by 35 employees of the university, as well as deputy of the city maslikhat Alexey Borisovich Lomakin. According to the speakers, the Government of the country has several reasonable reasons for the construction of a nuclear power plant. The strongest argument is the huge reserves of uranium. The second argument is about safety for human health and the environment. Modern reactors are built taking into account past experience and have the latest protection systems. We must not forget about the beneficial effects on the environment. The nuclear power plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by reducing the share of traditional energy sources – oil and coal. The event has become a source of reliable and expert information.
