The National Forum "Corporate Governance in Education: experience and Prospects" was held under the auspices of the National Council for Corporate Governance at the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" and the Kazakhstan Association of Independent Directors Qazaq Independent Directors. International and Kazakhstani experts in the field of corporate governance, business leaders, as well as representatives of government agencies and national holdings gathered at one site. The forum was also attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of NAO "KarIU" Shaimardanov Zhasulan Kudaibergenovich and Corporate Secretary Zhaslan Rymgul Kuatkyzy. The main theme of this year's forum is "Corporate governance – the imperative of liberalizing the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan". The plenary sessions of the forum were devoted to the following issues: "Current challenges for corporate governance of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "Corporate governance as a formula for long-term success". In addition, the participants took part in four panel discussions from leading experts from audit companies, financial institutions and development funds, as well as interactive workshops from international experts. The Forum is designed to create a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to discuss key issues of corporate governance and share experience in implementing its best practices.
