On February 12, the scientific and technical session organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with Kazakhmys Corporation completed its work. The session was held at the Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov. It was devoted to modern leaching methods and prospects for their application in the mining and metallurgical complex of Kazakhstan.
Following the results of the session, priority research projects were selected.
The first place was taken by the joint project "Leaching of valuable components from copper ore flotation tailings" of the Institute of Gorenje Problems, Satbayev University and a group of Iranian scientists.
The second place was awarded to the project "Solving urgent problems of Kazakhmys Corporation" of Karaganda Industrial University.
The third place was taken by the project "Processing of enrichment tailings for the production of rhenium", developed by scientists of Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov.
The implementation of the projects will increase the efficiency of extraction of valuable metals, reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment and strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the field of mining and metallurgical technologies.
