KARIU OPENS THE ACADEMIC YEAR

On September 2, Karaganda Industrial University held a ceremonial event dedicated to two important occasions – the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of Knowledge.

The main heroes of the celebration were first-year students who are just beginning their academic journey at one of the leading technical universities in the country.

This year, the university welcomed about a thousand students from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as from near and far abroad. Young applicants chose Karaganda Industrial University for its strong reputation, experienced faculty, and modern educational programs aimed at training highly demanded specialists in engineering, technology, economics, and management.

Rector of the university, Bakhyt Akhatovich Zhautykov, addressed students and faculty with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of constitutional values and the role of education in building a successful future for the country.

One of the key moments of the event was the awarding of the commemorative statuette "Best Graduate of KIIU." It was presented to the Chairman of the Temirtau City Maslikhat, Alexey Borisovich Lomakin, as a symbol of recognition for his contribution to the development of student youth and support for the university’s initiatives.

Special attention during the event was given to a new university tradition — open guest lectures, where invited speakers shared their knowledge and experience. The first lecture was held under the theme: “The Power of Knowledge and Choosing a Path: The First Step into the Future,” symbolizing the beginning of students’ academic and personal growth.

The event marked a meaningful start to the new academic year and served as a platform for fostering civic values, a passion for learning, and thoughtful career choices.
