On December 2, a seminar dedicated to the protection of innovations and new trends in the field of metallurgy was held at Karaganda Industrial University. The event brought together lecturers, doctoral students, scientists, industry specialists, and experts in intellectual property.
The main topic of the meeting was the protection of new developments in metallurgy. Participants discussed how to properly protect inventions, which patent systems are currently in effect, and what specific features exist when registering rights to technologies in Kazakhstan, Russia, and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The seminar was organized in the format of several round tables. Modern innovation trends in both ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy were discussed. Experts conducted an informative and substantive analysis of the situation in the industry, explaining how patenting requirements are changing and why the protection of technologies is becoming an increasingly important part of industrial development.
Particular interest was drawn to the comparison of the patent systems of Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Eurasian Patent Organization. Participants were informed about the differences in registration procedures, the requirements of various institutions, and how to choose the most effective path for protecting their developments.
Speakers included representatives of the law firm “Gorodissky & Partners,” one of the largest Russian companies in the field of intellectual property. The firm’s patent attorneys and lawyers explained which objects can be legally protected: inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, software, databases, and other results of intellectual work.
In conclusion, a discussion and individual consultations were held. Participants were able to ask questions, receive recommendations, and learn how to properly register rights to their scientific and technical developments.
The seminar at KARIU became an important platform for exchanging experience and enhancing the knowledge of students and specialists working in the field of metallurgy and innovation.
