Timur Turlov explained how OpenAI licenses will be distributed for Kazakhstan.

165,000 ChatGPT licenses for the education system

Timur Turlov recalled that Freedom Holding signed two major agreements and memorandums with OpenAI and NVIDIA.

“They took an important place among all the agreements reached. The project with OpenAI is expected to help Kazakhstan’s education system make a kind of quantum leap forward. For the country, 165,000 licenses of the special ChatGPT UDU version have been financed, which will improve educational, academic, and research activities. It has broad functionality: it will help relieve school teachers of routine tasks so they can devote more attention to children,” said Timur Turlov.

A smart assistant for every teacher

According to the head of Freedom Holding, the introduction of AI tools will allow teachers to focus on working with students rather than on technical tasks.

“Each teacher will receive a smart assistant to prepare lesson plans, create and grade tests, as well as adapt learning materials to the real needs of students. All tools will be available in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

The project is being implemented without government funding. Information security and personal data protection fully comply with legislative requirements and international practices. The project is given priority attention,” Turlov emphasized.

Distribution of licenses

The businessman also clarified how exactly the licenses will be distributed and what place Kazakhstan has taken in OpenAI’s international initiative.

“By agreement with the ministries of science, education, and digital development, 100,000 licenses will be allocated to the secondary technical education system, 62,000 to higher education institutions, and more than 2,000 to participants of Astana Hub. Thanks to this agreement, Kazakhstan, together with Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and three other countries, entered the first wave of OpenAI’s global Education for Countries program. Training courses will be organized for users jointly with company specialists,” Timur Turlov shared.

AI Center

The second agreement concerns the creation in Kazakhstan of the largest sovereign artificial intelligence center in Central Asia with the participation of NVIDIA.

“The second project with NVIDIA предусматривает строительство in Kazakhstan of the largest sovereign artificial intelligence center in Central Asia. The total volume of investments may exceed $2 billion. Currently, the architecture of the complex, the feasibility study, the financial model, and related documentation are being developed.

Possible sites for the center are being considered, including the Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz. According to the company’s assessment, the conditions of the special zone create a favorable environment for the implementation of complex technological projects,” Turlov concluded.
