On December 6 of this year, a thematic seminar on the topic «Institute of the Presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Stages and trends of development» was held at Karaganda Industrial University.
The purpose of the event: to explain the main directions of the presidential institute in Kazakhstan, its development, as well as to explain important aspects of the provisions of political changes and recent constitutional reforms in our country.
In Kazakhstan, the institute of the presidency has become the core of the state system. The presidential position was created in Kazakhstan before the declaration of independence. On April 24, 1990, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, the highest authority in the republic, adopted the law «On the creation of the post of President of the Kazakh SSR and Amendments and Additions to the Constitution (Basic Law) of the Kazakh SSR» and created the post of President of the Kazakh SSR. The first President of the country, N.A. Nazarbayev, was appointed to this position in April 1990 by the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR.
During the thematic event, the stages of the process of gaining independence by Kazakhstanis and the establishment of the institution of the Presidency were highlighted, as well as additional requirements for presidential candidates in the Constitutional Law were highlighted.
