HOW TO CHOOSE A PROFESSION

As a rule, it is difficult for a student to judge the labor market and employment prospects. Therefore, it is important to consult with experienced people who can tell you which specialties are relevant or will be in demand in the future, which professional skills should be developed and where it is better to enroll. Specifically for this purpose, CarIU hosts a number of events aimed at professional orientation.

For example, on May 23, as part of the republican campaign "Tell about your future profession", a meeting of university volunteer students with students of the 10th grade of lyceum school № 20 took place at Karaganda Industrial University. Students, based on their own experience, told the students how to stop focusing on other people's opinions and find a suitable profession in accordance with their capabilities, interests, abilities and taking into account the requirements of the labor market.

- I chose the profession of thermal power engineering for myself and entered the University not by chance, - assured the 2nd year student Alexander Onishchenko. – Firstly, our university is one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan with an excellent material and technical base. In addition, our university has an academic mobility program. Participation in the program is a chance to get the experience of studying at a foreign university and the experience of living abroad at the same time. I went to Poland myself last year. All you need to do is study well and know English. Secondly, almost my entire family works as heat power engineers, we can say that we already have a dynasty. Thirdly, I know for sure that after graduation I will find a job with a good salary.

- After graduation, I will become a pharmaceutical technologist. The learning process turned out to be very interesting, especially since students at our department have the opportunity to develop their own strataps. We make creams, soaps, dietary supplements, - continued the 1st year student Zhaksylyk Nurgul. - Today this specialty is in great demand. Our graduates can work as pharmacists, technologists, technical specialists in pharmaceutical companies, engineers in manufacturing at pharmaceutical enterprises. The work of such specialists is well paid.

The volunteers explained to the students that the choice of profession should be made as early as possible in order to determine the relevant subjects at the UNT in time and prepare well for it. Then the chances of admission to the university will greatly increase.

- It is also important that many grants are allocated to Karaganda Industrial University. That is, there is a high probability that you will not only study for free, but also receive a scholarship," assured 1st-year student Baykozha Aizhan.

Prospective applicants admitted that the students' advice proved useful. Many people are already thinking about getting their profession in КARIU.
