NAURYZNAM IN KARIU

The decade of Nauryznam began on March 14 and lasted 10 days. During this time, КarIU hosted more than a dozen different events, including concerts, exhibitions, sports competitions, flash mobs, and more. One of the most spectacular events was the Baursak Party.

Each day of the decade is dedicated to a separate theme: days of greetings, good wishes, charity, family, national dress, renewal, unity and sports. This initiative is aimed at popularizing national traditions, strengthening the unity of the people and a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.

The representatives of the ethnocultural association at Qarmet JSC helped the students of Karaganda Industrial University to plunge into the history of the holiday and its customs. During the guided tours, the children were told about family values, charity, and good neighborliness. There, students also studied the secrets of national clothing, which one of the days in Nauryz Nam is dedicated to. On March 18, university staff, teachers and students donned beshpets and vests, as well as other items of clothing with traditional national patterns and details. The girls added jewelry, such as beautiful earrings.

"The national costume not only emphasizes the external beauty of a person, but also embodies a rich inner world, love for his people," the participants of the flash mob noted.

City competitions in national sports have become an equally popular event among young people during the festive decade. Students of CarIU and Temirtau colleges competed in five sports. The winners and prize-winners were awarded with diplomas and cash prizes.

— This is a living example of how the ancient Nauryz holiday has harmoniously integrated into modern life, preserving the continuity of traditions. National sports contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of national identity among the younger generation, said Raisa Kolesnikova, the chief judge of the competition, Head of the Department of Physical Culture at KarIU.

Another mass event was the Baursak party, organized in the university lobby near the yurt installed there. As you know, baursaks are a symbol of hospitality among nomadic peoples. This dish is popular in Kazakhstan. No festive dastarkhan can do without this traditional flour product, it is served to the most expensive and honored guests.
Everyone could taste the dishes at the richly covered dastrakhan to the sounds of dombra. The participants of the celebration shared gifts and good wishes.

"The ancient holiday, revived a few years ago, symbolizing the arrival of spring and the awakening of nature, continues to unite people of different cultures and faiths," said Bolat Makhmutov, Vice Rector for Research and International Relations. – May this holiday bring tranquility, prosperity and peace to every home.

On March 22, representatives of Karaganda Industrial University will take part in the citywide celebration of Nauryz.
