New horizons of cooperation with the UK

On March 27, 2025, Maqsut Narikbayev University (Astana) hosted a seminar on transnational education (TNR) and quality assurance of international educational programs in Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the British Council in cooperation with the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The seminar brought together more than 60 participants from the country's leading universities, representatives of the Ministry, international accreditation agencies and British experts. The discussion focused on barriers to the implementation of the TNE and the development of the Quality Assurance Framework for Transnational Education (TNE QAF), which will become a guideline for Kazakhstani universities in international educational cooperation.

KarIU was represented at the event by Anar Rakhmetova, Director of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations. During the sessions and group discussions, she took initiatives to introduce the principles of TNE QAF into the practice of regional universities.

At the end of an eventful day, the participants were invited to an official reception at the residence of the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, where an informal discussion of the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of education took place.

Karaganda Industrial University continues to actively participate in building international partnerships and implementing the best international practices in the educational process.
