On April 24, Karaganda Industrial University hosted the Alumni Fair, a large—scale career event that brought together students, recent graduates, and representatives of local businesses and organizations at one venue. This event gave young professionals a unique opportunity to personally meet potential employers, get up-to-date information about vacancies and be interviewed on the spot.
This year, the Alumni Fair has acquired a special significance.: It was held as part of the Year of Working Professions, which strengthened its practical focus and focus on sought-after specialties. The organizers and participants of the event expressed the hope that such initiatives would make an important contribution to the development of the region's labor potential. In total, about two dozen potential employers took part in the fair. Representatives of the companies actively interacted with the participants, talked about the specifics of working in their organizations, requirements for candidates and career opportunities. Many students noted that this form of communication helps to remove barriers, increase confidence and better understand in which direction they want to develop professionally.
KarIU's cooperation with participating enterprises deserves special attention, not only within the framework of the Fair, but also on an ongoing basis. The university is actively developing cooperation with the real sector of the economy in key areas: the organization of production practices, the introduction of elements of dual education, as well as the joint development of new educational programs that take into account the requirements and expectations of employers as much as possible. This approach makes it possible to provide training for specialists who are able to successfully adapt to modern labor market conditions and quickly become involved in production processes.
The Alumni Fair has already become a good tradition for КarIU, and this year it is also an important stage in the implementation of the tasks set for the vocational education system. The event proved its effectiveness as a launching pad for the careers of young professionals, opening up real employment and professional growth prospects for them, as well as strengthening the strategic partnership between the university and the business community.
